My wife and I met Ellen at a Jackson Browne concert; she sat next to us. As we conversed before the show (it turns out we knew each other from a Jackson Browne internet discussion group) we discovered we were both teachers, she retired, me a year away. Further discussion revealed she was very good friends with Tim Allen, who ran the San Diego Educational Collaborative, under whose direction the school I worked at was run. Never saw Ellen again after that evening, but kept touch via Facebook and the discussion group. Meeting Ellen was one of those amazing "coincidences" one encounters periodically. She was one of my "most unforgettable persons". Rest in Peace
