Ellen loved people. She took the time to really know someone and insightfully could encourage and support while respecting the uniqueness of the person. The way that she lived her life, going after it with gusto and following and achieving her dreams are a lesson and an inspiration, while always having the time to nurture her relationships. When she found a person or an organization she admired, she passed it on enthusiastically - sharing the wealth, sharing the wonder. I remember the times she counseled me gently as a friend, and send thanks for that honesty. I wish I could have another hug, and another day in the sunshine with Ellen.
